MWLS' 40th Anniversary Celebration, held last week at the Hopkinton Country Club, honored 40 attorneys, community leaders and friends who have contributed to the success of our organization, and raised $30,000. Keynote Speaker, Congressman Joseph P Kennedy III, noted the devastating effect a lack of civil legal aid funding has on our communities, and after thanking them for their support, urged the guests to contribute financially towards ameiliorating this problem. Senator Karen Spilka presented the organization with a citation, and Rep Linsky offered his congratulations.
Receiving awards for their outstanding involvement: Paul T Dacier, Esq, Dell EMC- the Nancy King Award; Robert Brack, Brack Family Fund & Joan H Brack Family Foundation- the Community Partnership Award; and Nutter, McClennen & Fish, LLP- the Pro Bono Award. Nutter partners Michael Leon, Mary Ryan, and Matt Snell accepted the award for the firm.
Congratulations to all of our “Forty for Forty” award recipients and honorees. You make it possible for us to continue our advocacy efforts to provide hope and justice for children, the elderly, victims of domestic violence, and low-income clients living in our MetroWest communities. Thank you.
